Since I've ignored this blog for about a week i shall now blog about what happened during sabbatical and some emo stuff before I proceed to doing my math homework/ research.

Sabbatical was fine, quite fun actually. Folding origami isn't as simple as you think, and there's lots of math stuff involve, like when they talk about the angles and that polygon the shape is. Only got 2 ace for it, I think. I was mislead into thinking that i was able to get a maximum of 5 ace from this sabbatical, when in fact the maximum i could get was only 3. So now I've got

2 + 3 + 2 = 7 math ace

This little amount of ace is very depressing if you think about it, looking at it from my perspective. Math is the only subject that I don't screw up in test and it's my only hope for a better MSG. Imagine losing your only A1 just because the ace isn't maxed.

[I lost my faith in my Chinese, after I got A2 last term. I'm probably getting a B3 this term cause of my assignments and composition]

Anyway, I had my NPCC weekly training yesterday again. Was exceptionally enthusiastic, probably because of Cai Hong Liang's absence, and because of the fact that it would be the last time I train with my sec 4 NCOs. The next time I see them in their uniform, it will be the Passing-out Parade next Thursday.

I know that I will definitely miss my NCOs, although they were the ones who pumped me, shouted at me for no apparent reason and do stupid things like going for course.

I won't survive the year with new NCOs like Marcus Goh and Tan Peng Ning around, who shouts 'samula' at everything.

okay let's move on, NPCC's too depressing and emo. I wonder how i'm going to survive the passing out parade with my substandard drills. -.-

Anyway, teachers day is in a few days time. A week ago I was still very excited about going back to primary school, but I just asked myself a question, and I could not find an answer to it.

QN : "what is your purpose of going back to primary school?"

a week's ago's answer would be:
"to see Ms Chan, Ms Tang and all my primary school friends"

But I began questioning myself. What is my purpose of going back? Letting them see what I've become and my results? Neither of this 2 are honourable. My msg has never hit below 3.00, so why would they be proud of me? And am I willing to let them see that after going to Hwa Chong, I've become a vulgar person? Is that really the image that i want to portray?

Therefore, I doubt I should go back.

With this emo stuff, I end my post

zzz still cannot accept the fact that i only got ace from that 5-ace-geometry-test.
once again, I'm going to be thick skin and try to claim some marks to push it up to 3 ace.
don't think I'll succeed though.
(sian lar i thought the sabbatical was 5 ace, then in the end the max ace only 3) -.-

Yesterday was a very nice day although there was NPCC. In fact, NPCC was nice also. =)
But it was not a day without disasters.

I got sent out of class for the first time in my Sec School life.
Who's class was it, very predictable right?
Science class.

So, what happened was that Mrs Chu was going through the powerpoint slides on Cell, Tissues and Organs and we were suppose to take down notes.

[ basically, we are suppose to write down everything that is on the slides. everything. when we can just print the ppt out from ivle >.< ]

---------
Mrs Chu: " take out your notes lah! don't need to study is it? among all the classes i teach, your class has the worst msg for this term"

*everyone, including me, takes out their notes. I cannot find my note mah, then i took longer*

Mrs Chu: "why, kim yao, don't need study is it, table so empty"

Me: "no lah, I still looking for my notes"

{ after i found out my notes, i started copying. but somehow, Mrs Chu DID NOT see me copying, and thus sent me out of class. Me, not wanting to argue with her, walked out of class without uttering a word. At first, i was leaning against the door. Then she said that i was not allowed to lean against any support. I immediately stiffened and stood with my hands behind me, in "Sir NangDiri" position. This action was followed by a few smiles from my classmates which i interpret as "good. niao her more. see how she respond" }

--------
that probably ruined the whole science class. Luckily she's not my form teacher. I never got sent out of class before in Mrs Raj's class. cause....
me <3 LA class
me <3 Math class
me <3 PE class
me <3 music class
me <3 drama class (read on to find out why)

let's get on with the rest of the post.

Oh, and not to miss out this very unimportant thing: I got praised by the art teacher for taking the initiative to wash the tools used for art class.

Insignificant it may be, but it means alot to me.

Oh, and NPCC. I had expected it to be stupid and retarded but actually it's quite fun. I got to see my old NCOs for the last time and see Vincent Lo. haha.

Tying knots is fun when you know how to do it.

Then there was the PT. wah had the flow to run seh. run 2.2 km never get stitches. XD
but then, i didn't like the 40 pumpings. my hand still hurts.
haha then for the 2nd round we were told run while following the "left, left, left right left" timing, then when you run you can hear the sound of the steps.

----------
when i went home, I got an even bigger shock when i checked my ace records.
I maxed/close to max for 4 subjects. i was so wow cause

in term 2 my ace points were:
english - 5
math - 3
chinese - 4
science - 1
I.H - 1
IS - 8

and now it's:
english - 9
science - 9
chinese - 10 (max woots)
IH - 5
IS - 12
math - 3 (omg sianz)

you see the leap in science???
and i excepted the chinese to max cause i spend alot of time and effort on the "singapore ok" thing.
IH is confirm max one, cause alvin tan haven't mark and key in yet. the following have not been counted for IH:
1. script and diary entry
2. singapore defense plan
3. maria hertogh riot
4. anti NS riot
5. chinese middle school riot
6. hock lee bus riot
7. 1964 racial riot
8. 1969 racial riot

if don't max i can kill myself already.

damn proud of my science and english. English term3 blog haven't count yet. So it's confirm maxed also. XD

Science is also damn simple. only 1 ace left, just
choose one topic from her website > copy, paste, edit > submit > max
my sabbatical TIC is Mrs Chu some more, don't need scared forget to submit.

Speaking of sabbaticals, it's next week. So it's gonna be pure slack, and still can get ace. I will get math ace (just what i need) cause i went for "math and origami". stupid it may be, but it was for the ace.

I made the right choice to go for that. Many of my classmates went for Enlightenment, which gives you science ace. I almost put that as my first choice.

If i did, then it would have been useless, cause my science already got 9, and my math only got 3.
If i did, then i would be lamenting about my stupidity.

but i didn't.
and I'll find my ways to max my math ace through this sabbatical. Or get a score that is close to max.

everything seems so perfect wow.

Note: must go revise Indices soon, forgetting all the rules already.

Kim Yao, who has just made another long long post.
P.S. notice that i call my science teacher Mrs Chu and not Chu-chia or chu chia wei ling?
I'm making one last effort to refine my choice of words.

Today has been a bad day.

First my test results, omg my msg this term is so screwed. I think i'm going to get even lousier then term 1's 3.33. But surprisingly, I'm not as emo as before. Wonder why....

But anyway my grades still suck. And there is a benefit to being thick-skin. It can pull your grades up. My english pulled up by 2 grades, history also pulled up by 2. lol the english most funny lar, the summary the language marks i only got 2/5, then i go ask my teacher why, then she never say anything then increase to 3/5. zai

History don't want say, because i deserve the marks lor, alvin tan anyhow mark never include that point.

Once again, wolfteam has failed me due to an unknown reason, and i shall seek pleasure from watching dramas that wei ling has given up on.

And Gordon created a facebook account, because wolfteam died on him like it did to me, and he probably got bored of sims. The following is an article from Yahoo! news:

Who's that girl? Facebook entries stir jealousy

By MICHAEL HILL,Associated Press Writer
AP - Friday, August 14
ALBANY, N.Y. - Alice Connors-Kellgren was surprised by her boyfriend's new Facebook profile picture a few weeks ago: He was kissing another girl on the cheek.

The picture was up only briefly. And she figures it was just a friend. But she plans to discuss it with him when they're back together this fall at Cornell University.

"We trust each other. Deep down, I know nothing is going on. But when you first see it, it's like `Oh my goodness! What's going on here?'" says the college student from Westchester County, N.Y.

All this friending, poking and picture-posting on Facebook can get you in trouble with your significant other. Couples are finding that old flames and flirty friends on the social networking site have a unique ability to stir jealousy and suspicion.

Jealous types now have to deal with brand-new kinds of provocations, such as a comment on their partner's wall from a possible romantic rival, or their loved getting tagged _ identified _ in a picture from an old relationship. Boyfriends and girlfriends can view all of this on their partners' walls.

"It seems like Facebook is creating jealousy even where there was not jealousy to begin with," said Amy Muise, a doctoral candidate at the University of Guelph's psychology department who led a recent study on how Facebook can spark jealousy in romantic relationships among college students.

She said Facebook doesn't necessarily make people more jealous than they would be normally. But all the information divulged on Facebook _ those answers to "What's on your mind?" and reactions to those posts _ can increase "triggers" for jealousy.

"Part of the issue with information on Facebook is that it lacks certain context, " Muise said, "so there could be things posted on your partner's wall that you really don't know what it means."

The study was based on anonymous online survey data from 308 undergraduate Facebook users, three quarters of them women. The study, published in CyberPsychology & Behavior, found Facebook users can get snagged in a "feedback loop": Their interest piqued by a cryptic wall comment, they become suspicious and start monitoring their partner's pages, thus finding even more suspicious information.

Dan Fitzsimmons, a 21-year-old University of Albany student, said he has had to explain Facebook photos to girlfriends in the past.

Samantha Siciliano, an incoming freshman at Quinnipiac University from North Adams, Mass., said she has become jealous over the back-and-forth on her old boyfriend's wall, especially from too-friendly comments like "You look cute."

"If your boyfriend is calling or texting another girl, you can't really see it. But on Facebook, you can see it and so can everyone else," Siciliano said. "So in a way, you do get jealous because he might be hanging his dirty laundry, and not only are you seeing it, but other people are, too."

Colin Booth of West Virginia University said he is not the jealous type, but finds it a strange, modern phenomenon to watch your girlfriend develop other relationships in real time on Facebook.

"It's been happening forever. You're with a girl, she meets a guy, they're friends at first," Booth said. "But it's the way you see it and what you see. And then you think: What's going on under the surface if this is what's going on in public?"

Laney Cohen, a 24-year-old who works in public relations in New York City, has a longtime boyfriend now in law school in Florida. She began noticing last year that her boyfriend was being tagged in photographs with a female friend who "kind of rubs me the wrong way." One picture in particular upset her: The pair were in a bar, and the woman was looking up at Cohen's boyfriend.

"I felt that it was a very couple-y picture to be in, and I freaked out and I called him and said, `This is disrespectful to me and our relationship. What if people start asking questions about why you're always hanging out with her?'" Cohen recalled.

This is not just a problem for young people, especially as more middle-aged people get on Facebook. Cohen said her father, after 29 years of marriage, was tagged in a 32-year-old photo by a former girlfriend. Cohen's mother was amused, not upset.

Muise said researchers are just beginning to learn all the ways social networking sites are changing the way couples relate. She cited the case of a young woman who found out her boyfriend broke up with her when she noticed he had changed his relationship status to "single."

For her part, Cohen said she and her boyfriend worked out their photo-tagging issue.

"He's either untagging photos or not showing up in the photos anymore," she said. "Either way is fine."

okay today was a day full of stupid things and i'm going to talk about them

There was science lesson by chu-chia weiling again, and today she said "sorry, your mindmaps are not going to be counted for ace because i feel that when you do the mindmaps at home, you tend to miss out some important point"

Thus, the time my class spent trying to get a few misarable credit points were wasted. When we made a small request of extending the deadline of ace submission, we were rejected. This made me super angry.

Then, during the usual-friday-1-period-of-slack-with-raj period, i complaint about her. The conversation was something like this.

Me: "I feel that Mrs Chu is a very unreasonable teacher. She has written on her ning website that good mindmaps will be given ace points, and so we spent time trying to come up with something good. And now, she tells us that no mindmaps are not going to get any ace. It's like she lied to us. And her excuse was that we missed out some very important information, which i'm sure we didn't. She even rejected our small request of extending the deadline as a form of "compensation" for the time wasted on the mindmaps."

Teacher: "But let me get this clear to you, ace points are there for you to learn. Teachers can choose to reject projects are not good. Ace activities should be challenging and takes effort to do. You should have proposed the mindmap idea to mrs chu first, and if she knew that it wouldn't get you any ace points, she would have told you not to do it. Furthermore, you should not be relying on ace points to pull up your grades. You should be studying hard and revising the things that you have learnt in class"

wen cong (the choir guy) : "but there's nothing to propose to her. The ace was a suggestion from her. and i can agree with kim yao on the unreasonable part. Just a few days ago, at the lab lesson, i saw kim yao bringing up a stack of papers to mrs chu for ace. Then mrs chu rejected him because of small reasons like "there was not biblography", "this has not pictures" and etc"

Me: "and mrs raj, mindmaps is all about compiling and simplifying lots of information into misarable boxes, so it is challenging and takes alot of time and effort. And for people like me, who get C6 for science everyterm, definitely needs the ace and OP to pull my grades up"

okay i forgot what happened after that.
And i finally explained to the teacher why it's ilogical that i only have 5 english ace
book circle 1 - 2 ace
book circle 2 - 3 ace
story board (lamb to the slaughter) - 1 ace (either 1 or 2)
angles - 2 ace

so should have 8 already what. and that was only last term. This term i still have poem portfolio and my current affairs discussion.

oh and after that was npcc.
i do not wish to elaborate on that, but FYI, the thing was
2.5h of drilling
75 pumpings
4.4km of running/walking

worst training ever.
oh and next week have new NCOs liao. I know that I will miss

Then, the wolfteam website also 'cannot be displayed'. Then how i download again...

today was a horrible day.

I was at the computer lab just now, and i wasted so much time.
I was suppose to do a powerpoint presentation when i found 2 of my members missing. And the one present was a typical slacker/leecher.
And by time i was smart enough to realise that no one was going to turn up, it was already 3 and the staff room was close, so i cannot submit my ace anymore.
And since tomorrow's national celebration (which is newspaper collection) i cannot submit my ace also.

Not to mention that my history ace is only half done, since my other member refuses to cooperate.
That's alot of ace screwed.

[does competing in SMO give you ace points?]

this is just sad.
Oh and there was a swimming test today. It was fine, I guess. At least i passed.

damn there's tuition this week.
I still have tuition homework and math worksheet undone.
Next week still have history test + geog test + math test 2
Wah, damn jia lat.
